What Blankout Stores
Blankout stores a small amount of app data locally on your device so the app can remember your focus setup and show your progress.
- Current task text
- Focus duration
- Selected sound and visual
- Focus stats and recent sessions
- Completed focus days for the monthly view
- Active session recovery data
- First-run intro dismissed state
This data stays on your device unless you back up, restore, or transfer your device using system-level tools provided by Apple.

What Blankout Does Not Do
- Blankout does not collect personal data.
- Blankout does not sell or share personal data.
- Blankout does not use accounts.
- Blankout does not use advertising.
- Blankout does not use analytics.
- Blankout does not track you across apps or websites.
- Blankout does not use cloud sync.
- Blankout does not use third-party crash reporting.
Permissions
Notifications And Live Activities
Blankout does not request notification permission and does not schedule local notifications.
On supported iPhones, Blankout can show the active focus timer through Live Activities and Dynamic Island. These surfaces are used only to display the current timer state.
Control
Resetting Local Data
You can clear local Blankout data from the app's Stats & settings panel by choosing Reset local data.
Deleting the app also removes locally stored Blankout data from the device.
